Location: We have offices based at Scale Space - W12 7RZ and this will be a hybrid role
Hours: We are open to full time, part time or condensed hours
Salary: £70,000-£82,500
The Opportunity:
Are you ready to make a significant impact on a company's financial health and strategic direction? As a Financial Controller, you will take ownership of shaping financial processes. This role offers you the chance to lead the implementation and optimisation of financial tools, enhancing our efficiency and effectiveness.
You will oversee day-to-day financial operations, managing the finance team, and working closely with our outsourced accountants. You'll ensure accurate and timely reporting, monitor cash flow, and manage working capital requirements. What You’ll Be Doing:
After 3 months you will:
- Familiarise yourself with our financial systems and processes and ways of working.
- Review and update financial processes to ensure continued best practice. Begin optimising the use of Xero and Approvalmax for financial reporting.
- Start preparing monthly financial reports and manage cash flow forecasts.
After 6 months you will:
- Lead the transition to a revenue generating company, ensuring timely and accurate accounting in changing environment.
- Ensure consistent and efficient processes for monitoring sales orders and purchase orders.
- Prepare for the year-end accounts process and collaborate with external accountants.
- Enhance financial analysis to provide strategic insights for decision-making.
After 12 months you will:
- Implement consistent financial reporting practices.
- Manage the year-end accounts process, ensuring timely completion.
- Continuously improve financial tools and processes to support organisational needs.
- Provide financial and due diligence support for future fundraises.
What You’ll Need to Be Successful:
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) preferred.
- Experience in a similar role within an organisation undergoing growth and change.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in financial software; experience with Xero is preferred but not essential.
- Ability to work unsupervised, taking control and ownership of financial processes.
