The opportunity....
Join us as a Process Development Scientist and help take novel materials from lab scale through to large scale manufacturing.
Are you excited by the idea of owning process chemistry projects? This is an opportunity to be part of something from the ground up, scaling up a brand-new process and contributing to the development of our in-house manufacturing capabilities.
You’ll work at the interface of R&D and process development, gaining hands-on experience in taking innovative products from the lab through to commercial scale. Collaborating with talented team members, you’ll play a key role in shaping how our materials are made at scale.
If you're looking for high-impact with project ownership, technical variety, and cross-functional collaboration, we’d love to hear from you.
What you’ll be doing...
- Design and perform experiments to enhance understanding of reaction chemistry to optimise manufacturing processes.
- Research and test new synthetic routes to improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Collaborate with third-party manufacturers to translate R&D learning into large scale production and provide continuous process development support.
- Work closely with analytical scientists to ensure product quality and reproducibility investigate reaction monitoring processes where applicable
- Embed process chemistry considerations in new material development projects.
- Design and conduct experiments to assess the impact of process parameters on product quality and establish the tolerances of these parameters.
- Collaborate with process engineers to translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Help to build-out Puraffinity’s in-house scale-up capabilities
- Ensure compliance with HSE guidelines, writing necessary documentation like COSHH forms and risk assessments.
- Share knowledge and expertise with the team.
What you’ll need to be successful...
To excel in this role, you’ll need a strong foundation in chemistry and industrial experience in process development. Your expertise in scaling products from lab to full-scale manufacturing will be crucial, as will your ability to optimise processes and design efficient synthetic routes.
Beyond your technical skills, your adaptability and creativity will be essential as you navigate new materials and processes, leveraging both your experience and innovative thinking. Collaboration will be at the heart of your success, working alongside scientists, engineers, and various third parties to translate chemical processes into successful manufacturing operations.
